iPhone 8 vs iPhone 7s/7s Plus
Which one will be the better device for you?
We are just about a month away before apple announces three new mobile devices however this time existing iPhone users who are planning to upgrade won't have a easy choice to make as there will be three devices to choose from. There are different points I will base as the key differences between these iPhones.
Price
How much lighter this new device is going to make your pocket is definitely going to be one of the biggest considerations from a buyer’s perspective and with three previous generations its for sure that the 7s Plus models are going to be more expensive than the 7s models so where does that place the much talked about iPhone 8? We’d guess for the new bezel-less display and the newer features it packs it is going to be priced higher than the other two devices. So for the newer iPhone 8’s cutting edge screen and newer features be prepared to pay a premium.
The displays in these devices are possibly the biggest factor differentiating these devices. The 7s will most likely host the 4.7 inch display in the iPhone 7 with minor tweaks and the same goes for the 7s Plus which will get its 5.5 inch display from the 7 Plus again with minor tweaks. Now the phone that is going to take the display in this lineup to the next level is going to be the iPhone 8. One of the biggest weaknesses of iPhones have been their bezels as the current iPhone 7 Plus has a normally large 5.5 inch screen in gigantic body however this is going to change with the iPhone 8 as it is going to get a bezel-less 5.8 inch display packed in a body almost as small as a iPhone 7. One thing we still do not know much about is the resolution of the displays which is a place where iPhones have always fallen behind their competitors like Samsung and Sony offering quad HD and even UHD displays. The iPhone 8 is surely going to have the best display of any iPhone yet. The other two devices will be a preference of size like the previous plus models have been.
From what we know till now the new iPhones are going to use the apple A11 chipset but this is a place where these iPhones are going to have a lot in common with all of them expected to be blazing fast.
Camera
Both the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus are going to have amazing cameras with the iPhone 7s Plus adding the functionality of dual camera however at this point we are not very sure of what will be the specifications of these cameras but the are definitely going to be an improvement over the previous generation. Now the iPhone 8 will also be having a dual camera setup but this time its going to be vertical with the flash in the middle of the two sensors and the second lenses on the 7s Plus and 8 are most likely going to be telephoto lenses like the 7 Plus and not wide-angle lens.
Now both the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus are going to have Touch-ID which might not be the case with the iPhone 8 which will compromise it in favour of the bezel-less display however what it will have is Face-ID which is accurate facial recognition system but we are not sure if its going to be as reliable and easy to use as Touch-ID. Finally we are also going to see wireless charging hopefully in all the three devices. Apple might also ship these iPhones in an all new brownish copper like colour.
We will have to wait for around a month to have a look at these devices as everything we know right now is based on leaks and rumours and we will have to wait for Apple to confirm things about these phones.
