Specs, launch date and more
The google pixel was one of the best phones of 2016 and now we are waiting for google to announce the phones which will be replacing them. By now their have
been many rumours about the phone and some of which seem pretty exciting.
Which company will be making these phones?
Last year’s Pixel phones were made by HTC however this time around there are rumours google has partnered with LG to make the Pixel 2 phone lineup. LG has had a lot of experience working with Google on many of the nexus devices and most of them were a success so it shouldn't be something to worry about.
The Launch Date
The phone is rumoured to be launched in the first week of October and the rumoured date is the second of October. The last Pixel was also launched in the month of October last year. The phone is expected to be launched around a month after its major rival the iPhone 8.
The Design
The design will not be a huge improvement over the last year’s phone for the smaller device however the larger device will now have a bezel-less display like most flagships of 2017. The larger device’s display could be a lot like the Note 8 from the front considering the size and the bezel-less display but we are sure Google will have its own elements too.
The specs
The phone will most likely be powered Snapdragon 835 and the resolution on the smaller phone will be Full HD which could be disappointing for some people. As far as rumours suggest the Pixel 2 won't have dual camera setup but instead have single lens which is expected to be great just like the last year’s Pixel. The phone will also have stereo speaker setup at the front of the phone. We are not yet sure if the phone will ditch the headphone jack or still have it. The phone will consist of 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
The Rivals
The smaller phone will most likely rival the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone 7s while the larger phone will rival the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, iPhone 8 and the iPhone 7s Plus. The rivals of the Pixel 2 could also be the insanely fast Oneplus 5 which is currently the fastest phone in most speed tests.
Conclusion
Most of these rumours seem interesting and exciting but we cannot say anything for sure until more leaks emerge or Google announces something about the phone.
